Embracing Self-Love Beyond Valentine’s Day

Yesterday, the shops were filled with sweet little reminders to LOVE YOURSELF, heart-shaped crumpets, love-themed sweets, mugs covered in hearts, and the cutest squishy teddy bears. At first, I rolled my eyes at the Valentine’s overload, but then something shifted…

Later in the afternoon, I took my son for a heart scan. Watching his heart valves work so hard to keep his body going was nothing short of magical. It made me realise, our hearts don’t wait for a special occasion to show love; they do it every single second of every single day.

For years, I’ve seen Valentine’s as a bit of a gimmick. But now? I can’t wait to walk through the shops again, smile at all the heart-shaped things, and take them as a sign to be kinder, softer, and more loving to myself and my body, not just today, but every day.

During a time of feeling so low, I need little reminders of self-love like this.

Love & hugs
