A Dream of a Crochet Commune: Who’s In?

Crochet friends, I have an idea, no, a dream.

Imagine a peaceful commune, nestled in nature, where life slows to the rhythm of our crochet hooks. A place where creativity flourishes, community thrives, and cosy vibes are a way of life.

What if we built a crochet commune?

Each of us would have our own charming little home, complete with big, sun-filled windows, perfect for waving to each other as we stitch away. Outside, a shared garden would be filled with laughter, the scent of fresh flowers, and the soothing sound of yarn being pulled from skeins.

And, of course, the houses would reflect our unique styles.

We could have:

  • Cath Kidston-inspired cottages for vintage floral lovers
  • Rustic Hygge retreats for cosy wintering
  • Orla Kiely hideaways for crisp autumn days
  • Maximalist and colourful quarters bursting with joyful chaos
  • Retro and quirky nooks filled with nostalgia and charm

Naturally, the tenancy would be seasonal. I’d love to winter in rustic hygge, spend spring among Cath Kidston florals, bask in summer’s maximalist vibrancy, and welcome autumn in an Orla Kiely dreamscape.

Our days would be filled with tea breaks, spontaneous hugs (because sometimes you just need a squeeze from a fellow maker), and only the finest selection of biscuits, Hobnobs, M&S custard creams, cow biscuits, and the humble yet essential Bourbon. Evenings would be for campfires, cosy chairs, and crocheting under the stars. We’d drape ourselves in flowing gowns, layer up in luxurious Rowan wool cardigans, and crown ourselves with flower Goddess Crowns.

We could yarn bomb the trees and make crochet heart bunting to blow gently from the branches.

No deadlines, no stress, just yarn, friendship, and the simple joy of creating together.

So, are you in?

Now, there’s just one tiny problem: the cost of land. But surely, if we sell enough granny square blankets on Etsy, we can make this happen… right?

Love & daydreaming hugs
