Huel & Chronic Illness

I’ve always been open about my journey as a mum living with chronic health conditions. So it often surprises people when they ask, “Why are you an ambassador for Huel?”

The answer is simple: before my diagnoses became too overwhelming, I worked in holistic health. I spent years understanding how nutrition, balance, and wellbeing support the body, especially during times of stress and illness. That knowledge never left me, even when I had to step back from my professional practice.

Living with chronic pain and fatigue means I have days where eating feels like a mountain to climb. Some days, all I want is the comfort of peanut butter on toast (and trust me, it’s still a favourite). But I also know my body needs more, more nutrients, more balance, more energy, to get through those tough times.

That’s where Huel comes in.

On overwhelming days, a shake is quick, filling, and nourishing.

When I fancy a treat, a Huel bar with a cup of tea is far kinder to my body than reaching for biscuits.

And on those nights when cooking feels impossible, the instant ready meals are a lifesaver. Just add boiling water, wait a few minutes, and you’ve got a warm, comforting dish that feels like real food.

There are plenty of flavours to choose from, but my personal favourite? Mac & Cheese; creamy, tasty, and no effort required.

For me, Huel isn’t about replacing food. It’s about supporting my body on the days when my health makes eating difficult. It’s about choosing something that nourishes me instead of depleting me. And it’s about showing others living with chronic conditions that there are ways to make life that little bit easier.
