How have I not done a yarn haul for so many months?
Happily back on track and ready to share my yummy yarn happiness.
Back in 2024, I decided to share my latest monthly yarn haul, but with a twist. It was not about showing off new yarn; it was part of a journey to embrace a more intentional, minimalist lifestyle.
Cutting back on my yarn addiction one skein at a time…
Hopefully, I will build a little library of months when I didn’t buy anything, I simply used what I had in my stash.
And maybe, inspire someone else to do the same.
My February Haul

Let’s do a deep dive into what I bought.
Yarn: 300g Yarnsmiths Pebble Haze Aran
2 x 50g Iolite
2 x 50g Pink Tourmaline
2 x 50g Yellow Amber
What I plan to make: The plan is a loose stitch slouchy summer top to wear over a dress or vest top. This yarn is perfect for summer as the rich cotton content makes it so comfortable in hot weather.

Yarn: 600g Yarnsmiths Bizarre DK Yarn
Shade: Malarkey
What I plan to make with it: A poncho as I am totally inlove with the shades in this yarn.
Here is a website description of the yarn
Inspired by our love of all things quirky and unusual, meet Bizarre DK—a colourful yarn bursting with character. Each ball features a perfect blend of mottled, washed shades that melt into one another, creating a soft self-striping effect. The result? A project full of gentle stripes, surprising colour shifts, and a touch of mischief. Whether you’re drawn to Hunkydory, tickled by Shenanigans, charmed by Collywobbles, or dazzled by Splendiferous, there’s a Bizarre DK shade just waiting for your needles or hook.
This yarn is made from premium acrylic with a multi-fold high twist construction, often found in higher-end baby yarns and Cashmere Merino blends. The result is a beautifully soft yarn with superb stitch definition and a high resistance to pilling.

Conclusion
Well, I am super proud of myself for my lack of excessive purchasing over the past few months. I have still enjoyed looking at yarn on store websites and even gone as far as it being placed in my basket… but I never bought what I did not need, and for that, I get a gold star this month.
Celebrating the small wins daily!
Hope your day is magical and you notice the small, precious moments.
Love & healing hugs
