Back in 2024, I decided to share my latest monthly yarn haul, but with a twist. It was not about showing off new yarn; it was part of a journey to embrace a more intentional, minimalist lifestyle.
Cutting back on my yarn addiction one skein at a time…
Hopefully, I will build a little library of months when I didn’t buy anything, I simply used what I had in my stash.
And maybe, inspire someone else to do the same.
My Haul

Let’s do a deep dive into what I bought.
Yarn: Yarnsmiths Pebble Haze DK
Shade: Fluorite
I bought 8 x 50g balls of this yarn.
Yarn: Yarnsmiths Cotton Wonder DK
Shade: Garden Pond
I bought 6 x 100g balls of this yarn
What I plan to make:
The Yarnsmiths’ Pebble Haze was a blooper! I ordered DK by mistake as I wanted it for a lovely summer top I have been making using Pebble Haze Aran. But as it is such a beautiful yarn, it turned out well, and I really enjoyed making a baby blanket. I will order some Aran another month.

The Cotton Wonder was to make a slouchy summer top. This turned out beautifully, and I am so happy with it.

Charity Shop & gifted (old school, gifted meaning a friend gave me yarn)

I got a single ball of a Stylecraft yarn I have never used before, and thought it was so very pretty. This ball was perfect for a scarf, and it crocheted up beautifully. The green yarn is a Yarnsmiths Nevada one, and a friend gave it to me as it was left over from a finished project. Not too sure what I am doing with this yet…
But how stunning is this scarf?

Conclusion
Well, I am super proud of myself for my lack of excessive purchasing. My yarn hauls were becoming obsessive, and I really do need to save money. I loved this haul, and it was very much essential to me.
I have still enjoyed looking at yarn on store websites and even gone as far as it being placed in my basket… but I never bought what I did not need, and for that, I get a gold star.
Celebrating the small wins daily!
Hope your day is magical and you notice the small, precious moments.
Love & healing hugs
