Back in 2024, I decided to share my latest monthly yarn haul, but with a twist. It was not about showing off new yarn; it was part of a journey to embrace a more intentional, minimalist lifestyle.
Cutting back on my yarn addiction one skein at a time…
Hopefully, I will build a little library of months when I didn’t buy anything, I simply used what I had in my stash.
And maybe, inspire someone else to do the same.
My Haul This Month:
This month has been a beautiful one, with some little charity shop bargains. I always seem to strike lucky and find a couple of balls which I can use.
After posting an image on Instagram of an all-white blanket from the archive, it suddenly gave me the urge to make another. This is ludicrous, as I never really enjoyed the challenge of the all-white blanket, but there I was about ten rows in doing the same. I then purchased some baby pink locally to break up the monotony.
I have sold a few pieces on Etsy this month, and done a little dance, as this allowed me to then make a big order for a new granny square blanket. The yarn won’t arrive till October now, so I will save that for then.
Let’s do a deep dive into what I bought.
Yarn: 3 X 100g Balls of Woolcraft DK White Yarn (Local Market Stall) & 1 50g ball of Pink Hobby Essentials Sparkle Yarn (Poundland)
Yarn: 2 x 50g Sunbeam Sapphire DK Pale Blue (Charity Shop)

What I plan to make:
A beautiful baby granny square blanket, which I am really enjoying.

With the pale blue yarn I have made a pretty detachable crochet collar.

Other Dopamine Yarn Hauls
(Gifted or Commissions)
None this month.
Conclusion
I’m so happy with my yarn this month, and I feel incredibly blessed to have been able to grab a bargain in my local charity shop. I always think of the story behind the yarn. Who’s yarn stash did it belong to before me?

My crocheting speed has slowed down so much this year. I’m not speeding through projects anymore, mostly due to trapped nerves in my arm. I am still loving what crochet I do, and the extra time is used wisely; I’m pouring that energy into filling my own happiness cup.
And finally… I never bought anything I didn’t actually need, so I think I deserve a little gold star for that.
Here’s to celebrating the small wins every single day.
I hope your day feels magical, and that you notice all the little precious moments along the way
Love & healing hugs
